You can take some really nice pictures of these sunflower fields near Dallas and spend the day on the farm looking at cute sheep, goats, and chickens.
But before you go, I’ve collected all the best tips for your upcoming visit to the fields full of golden sunflowers!
Things to Know Before you Go
Bloomer’s Garden & Wildflower Farm (formerly Wild Berry Farm) is a 15-acre farm located on 905 Crawford Rd, Sadler, TX 76264.
The entrance fee is $6 per person. Each flower stem ranges from $1-$3 each.
There are different sunflower sections; there is a large sunflower field to walk through and take pictures in, and there are smaller fields of flowers that you can cut to make your bouquet and take them home with you!
To take a bouquet with you, bring a bucket or container. If not, the staff will provide you with cups to put your flowers inside.
You can bring your own pair of heavy-duty scissors to cut the flower stems, but they also have some scissors that you can borrow.
They also sell other items on the farm like honey from their beehives, berries, goat milk soap products, and other goodies.
When you arrive, walk to the front desk to pay the entrance fee. The nice family who runs the farm will explain which flowers you are allowed to cut, give you some fish food for the catfish in the pond, and then off you go! To explore the beautiful sunflower fields near Dallas!
Best Time to Visit Sunflower Fields
The sunflowers bloom in June/July and then again in October. So, if the summer heat is too intense for you, you have a chance to see them in the fall!
Tip: The farm opening days are dependent on the weather, so check their website and Facebook for updates before you drive out to the farm.

What to Wear & What to Bring
- Sunscreen! sunscreen! sunscreen! (The hubby and I are still rocking our sunburns, ha!) So, I can’t recommend this enough.
- There is zero shade when you’re walking around the field, so a hat would also be a good idea.
- There will be dirt! So just know that your shoes will get a little dirty and keep that in mind when choosing your shoes. I would not recommend wearing heels.
- Wear a pretty sundress :)
- Bring water to stay hydrated (they sell bottled water at the farm if you forget yours).
- Camera – to enjoy nature and have fun taking pictures!
What to Expect
There were bees EVERYWHERE and on almost every flower. When I saw so many bees, I was a little apprehensive. But we had no issues with the bees. They honestly paid no attention to us; they were very focused on the flowers!
There were sunflowers in various sizes and colors in different areas on the farm. Some were as short as 4 feet and others were as tall as 9 feet!
Besides different types of sunflowers, there were also other flowers on the farm when we went, such as different varieties of Zinnias.
Tip: Check their website before you go to see what flowers are blooming on the farm.
Due to the 2021 winter storm in Texas, the farm lost many of the berry plants. There is still a small section for berry picking, just not a large crop at the moment.
The owners are super nice and welcoming; they will answer any questions you have about the farm.
Other Activities on the Farm
- See the farm animals
- Feed the catfish in the pond
- Go berry picking
- Play on the slide hill
- Go shopping at the farm store! They have many items for sale such as plants, honey, hand made soaps and more.
